Thank you, this looks like it will solve one of my many problems. Is there a way to include all the css code in the original html document? I’m in a situation where I can’t use a separate .css for this particular project. So I’m in need on an “inline” version.

In other words how can I place this code into the html document instead of the css doucment?
.hover-image-container {display:block; height:15px; overflow:hidden}
.hover-image-container:hover img {margin-top:-15px}

Hey. this sounds all really cool.

The only problem is that we are coding for wordress and we tried your method and failed to come right.
In the html we cannot put the image source and class=hover-image-container as it does not read in the php file.

Do have a solution to make this method work within wordpress themes?

Hey Jeff,

It’s because the print.css doesn’t ‘cut’ the image in the middle, but shows it fully. If You want, You can just cut the image in half in print css as well. Just add these two lines to you print.css:

.hover-image-container {display:block; height:15px; overflow:hidden}
.hover-image:hover {margin-top:-15px}

I really liked your article and I am going to try it. I printed out (weird I know, but I still sometimes do that) and I noticed something odd. the print out of your navigation showed

Yup, you can download most of them just by clicking on the link in the post. Only one site requires registration, but that’s also free. : )
